Fed up with political squabbling, the King has held the Dutch parliament hostage, proving that sometimes the only way to pass a budget is to treat elected officials like toddlers in a time-out. It is the most effective governance I’ve seen in years, and frankly, I wish he’d do the same for our local zoning board.
