A Mexican immigrant, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Houston, was not the intended target of the federal operation, according to U.S. Representative Sylvia Garcia. Salgado Araujo had lived in the U.S. for over 35 years, had no criminal record, and was close to obtaining legal status.
