An association linked to the Green Party is pushing a new 100 million peso environmental management unit (UMA) project in San Miguelito, near Sierra La Laguna, after SEMARNAT rejected a similar previous proposal. Environmental groups are concerned as the project site, considered strategic, already shows signs of unauthorized deforestation.
