OpenAI has partnered with semiconductor giant Broadcom to unveil 'Jalapeño,' OpenAI's first custom-built artificial intelligence chip. This chip is designed to power the next generation of AI models, aiming for faster, more reliable, and more affordable AI deployment at scale. Engineering samples are already running machine-learning workloads, including GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark, at target speeds and power levels.
