Former Nigerian general Rabe Abubakar has passed away while being held captive by bandits in the northwest, reportedly due to health complications.

Rabe Abubakar was abducted along with his wife by so-called bandits in the northwest. A government statement said he died from complications related to diabetes and hypertension.
