French prosecutors on Wednesday sought to charge pop star Patrick Bruel and place him in pre-trial detention over nine allegations of sexual abuse including rape and sexual assault. Bruel, a singer, actor, one-time world poker champion and heartthrob in the early 1990s has denied the allegations.
