Global airline profits are projected to drop by nearly half this year, falling from $45 billion to $23 billion, due to a doubling of jet fuel prices caused by geopolitical tensions and Middle East conflicts. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts a net profit margin decrease from 4.2% to 2%.
