Mexico's National Electoral Institute (INE) expressed concern that a proposed law, aimed at preventing candidates with ties to crime, could compromise its institutional neutrality. The INE's president councilor urges the Legislative Power to clarify that the institute will not be involved in assessing such risks for candidacies.
