Guadeloupe Battles Rising Gun Violence Amidst Young Offenders Surge
Guadeloupe faces escalating gun violence, with one firearm for every ten residents and a recent surge in young offenders. Anti-crime efforts are struggling to contain the rising numbers.
On the French Caribbean archipelago of Guadeloupe, there is one gun for every 10 residents. Since the beginning of the year, 12 people have already been shot and killed by gunfire. Anti-crime brigades are doing their best to address the issue, but the number of offenders is on the rise and they are increasingly young.Β Our France 2 colleagues report, with FRANCE 24's Lauren Bain.
