PROFEPA has issued a temporary closure for the "Uncle Checo's Sanctuary" project in San José del Cabo due to extensive land use changes on over 10,000 square meters of forest. This action follows numerous citizen complaints and SEMARNAT's earlier rejection of the project's environmental impact statement.
