The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has clarified that the hantavirus detected on a cruise ship is not a new or more dangerous variant. The agency recommends immediate medical isolation for symptomatic passengers and up to six weeks of quarantine for those without symptoms to prevent further spread.
