Cabo Pulmo Marine Park Protected by New Ruling Amid Development Threats
A recent ruling by Mexico's Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) has deemed the large-scale Baja Bay Club development environmentally unviable, offering temporary protection to the Cabo Pulmo National Park. This area, once a struggling fishing village, has become a world-class dive destination with significantly recovered marine life thanks to its designation as a protected marine park. However, developers have long posed a threat to the reef's delicate ecosystem.
