Suspected Hantavirus Outbreak on Cruise Ship Leads to Three Deaths
The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported a suspected Hantavirus outbreak on an Atlantic cruise ship, which has resulted in three fatalities. Hantavirus is typically transmitted through contact with the droppings of infected rodents and can cause severe respiratory illness.
The virus usually spreads by contact with the urine or feces of infected rodents like rats and mice. It can cause a severe and sometimes deadly lung infection.
