A citizen-led conservation campaign has successfully brought iconic kiwi birds back to New Zealand's capital, Wellington, after an absence of a century. This initiative aims to bolster the declining kiwi population, which currently stands at approximately 70,000 birds nationwide and faces a 2% annual decrease.
