Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon, Guanajuato, has joined the Movimiento Ciudadano party after resigning from the PAN, where she was a member for over 20 years. This move comes as she was previously positioned by MC as a strong candidate for the Guanajuato governorship in 2030, a week after her resignation from the PAN. Gutierrez cited constant attacks and the PAN "damaging Leon" as reasons for her departure.
