During UN negotiations, India emphasized the necessity of greater representation for the Global South within the UN Security Council, especially concerning permanent membership categories.

At the Inter-Governmental Negotiations (IGN) meeting on UN Security Council reforms, India highlighted the “need for greater representation of the Global South, particularly in the permanent category," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a post on X.
