The United Nations reports that approximately 250 people are missing after a migrant boat sank in the Indian Ocean. The vessel was reportedly overcrowded and struck by heavy winds and rough seas.

The trawler "reportedly sank due to heavy winds, rough seas and overcrowding", the United Nations said.
