A new UNDP report indicates that economic instability resulting from the West Asia conflict could dramatically worsen poverty levels across India. The report forecasts a sharp increase, raising the number of people in poverty from approximately 400,000 to 2.5 million.

“In India, poverty is expected to rise from around 4,00,000 to 2.5 million,” the report said
