Hong Kong to cut over 10,000 civil service jobs by 2027
Hong Kong's government plans to eliminate more than 10,000 civil service positions by 2027. Minister Ingrid Yeung stated the reduction would primarily affect junior roles, aiming to streamline the civil service structure.
More than 10,000 posts in the Hong Kong government will be cut by the end of Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu’s current term in June 2027, with close to 60 per cent of these deletions being junior roles and about 3 per cent at the senior level.
