A judge in Mexico City has ordered authorities to guarantee the protection of animals used in the La Pasión de Cristo 2026 event, following an amparo in favor of animal rights organization Va Por Sus Derechos. The measures aim to prevent animal suffering during the event, especially in Iztapalapa, where horses and donkeys will be exposed to heat and pavement.
