The Mexican Embassy in the EU has advised citizens seeking a US visa to share their social media profiles to aid the visa application process. This new requirement applies to a range of visa categories, including non-immigrant visas. The embassy stated that maintaining public social media profiles is essential for the visa application process, while private profiles may cause delays. This move follows the US Department of State's expansion of online review for more visa categories, starting from last Monday. The review will now apply to categories such as reunification of family, work and study visas, which accounted for 63% of the 1.3 million visas approved in 2024.
