A coalition of US allies is preparing a diplomatic effort to persuade Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with possible sanctions against Teheran if the waterway remains closed. A virtual meeting of foreign ministers from 35 countries, including France, Germany, and Japan, will discuss a plan to restore navigation freedom in the strait.
