French ​President Emmanuel Macron said ​on Wednesday that he shared Japanese ​Prime ‌Minister Sanae ⁠Takaichi's position on ‌the need to ⁠restore freedom of navigation in the ​Strait of Hormuz, ‌speaking alongside her in Tokyo. The US–Israeli ‌war with Iran ​has rattled global markets and effectively shut the ​Strait of ​Hormuz, a ​conduit for a ​fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas flows.
