Iran's parliament is discussing the potential withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), amid heightened tensions with the West.

Iran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes and that as a signatory of the NPT it has the right to peaceful nuclear enrichment
