U.S. Amphibious Assault Ship Arrives in West Asia
The US has deployed an amphibious assault ship to the West Asia region, with approximately 3,500 Marines and sailors on board, according to a statement from Centcom.
The ship, which is usually based in Japan, arrived in the region on March 27, Centcom said in a post on X, noting that the vessel is the flagship for a contingent of "about 3,500" Marines and sailors.
