Mexican State of Baja California Sur Passes Autism Law After Public Consultation
The Baja California Sur state congress has completed its consultation process with people on the autism spectrum, as part of a law aimed at strengthening the region's legal framework for autism awareness. The law, which has been approved by the state congress with unanimous support, includes 13 chapters and will be implemented in part based on proposals from local municipalities. The consultation process was part of a ruling by the country's Supreme Court, which had previously declared the law unconstitutional. The new law is designed to be more inclusive and guarantee the human rights of individuals with autism.
