Mexican Authorities Accused of Burying Feminicide Cases in BCS
Activists in Baja California Sur are denouncing a systemic practice by authorities to not investigate deaths of women as feminicidios, despite meeting legal criteria. The group Búsqueda X La Paz claims that recently discovered bodies in Comondú are being classified under other legal figures, diluting the violence of gender behind these crimes. This practice is part of a larger issue of uninvestigated violence against women in the region, where at least five female bodies have been found in clandestine graves since International Women's Day in March.
