Environment Secretary Alicia Bárcena stated in San Lázaro that conditions are not yet right for commercial fracking in Mexico, while acknowledging that pilot tests have occurred. During her address, she also urged lawmakers to allocate an additional 350 million pesos to strengthen environmental enforcement agency Profepa for 2027.
