Federal environmental authorities have temporarily closed an unauthorized 15-hectare clearing operation within the El Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve in Mulegé. Inspectors found that native desert vegetation was removed and a concrete slab was poured without Semarnat permits. The site is now under a strict shutdown order.
