A fossil previously stored for decades has led to the identification of Eosphorosuchus lacrimosa, a new crocodile relative that roamed New Mexico 210 million years ago. This jackal-sized predator possessed a reinforced skull, powerful jaw muscles, and a short snout for taking down larger prey.
