Mexico's National Electoral Institute (INE) has approved guidelines to identify and report "planchadas" (flat) ballots, which appear unfolded, during the 2027 federal elections. These measures aim to prevent electoral fraud by ensuring proper handling and verification of ballots, with invalid ones to be handed over to prosecutors.
