Mysterious Gas 'Bullets' Eject from Milky Way's Helium Nova at Extreme Speeds
Astronomers have detected high-speed 'bullets' of gas, possibly oxygen-rich, being ejected from a rare helium nova in the Milky Way. These gas clumps are traveling at speeds up to 20 million miles per hour.
