Controlled Burns Improve Giant Sequoia Survival Rates in Wildfires, Study Finds

A new study published in Nature Communications reveals that giant sequoias in forests managed with prescribed burns are nearly four times more likely to survive extreme wildfires. Controlled burns effectively decrease tree mortality.
